All Injury Rehab of North Dallas
Whiplash is different in each and every patient, whether there is pain in the neck, numbness in extremities, upper back pain, or muscle strains, to name only a few symptoms, not to mention the severity of the whiplash.
Because an individual case of whiplash can be so different from the next, our Physical Rehab Specialists and Chiropractors will not be general in the way they approach the diagnosis or whiplash treatment of your case.
The appropriate whiplash treatment will be unique to your needs as directed by your chiropractic diagnostic exam.
Spinal Manipulation Whiplash Treatment
For cervical joint pain whiplash, spinal manipulation could be included in your whiplash treatment. This involves our Chiropractor moving the involved joint into the appropriate position. This is also known as a chiropractic adjustment
Manual Massage Therapy Whiplash Treatment
For muscle strains caused by whiplash, your whiplash treatment could consist of manually massaging the muscle that has excessive tension or repeated contractions. If needed, for extremely tight muscles, a more vigorous deep tissue massage may help stretch the muscle and will be applied by the Chiropractor. Manual Massage pressure techniques may be applied to trigger points to relieve the pain associated with the tight muscles.
McKenzie Exercise Treatment Whiplash Treatment
McKenzie exercises are specifically designed to reduce disc derangement related to a whiplash injury. They consist of simple movements that are initially done in the office but make for an easy transition to self-care at home. McKenzie exercises also help the patient take an active role in his or her own whiplash treatment.
Stabilization and sensorimotor exercise approaches are designed to correct faulty movement patterns in routine activities and everyday life. Such whiplash treatment trains the nervous system to better coordinate and control movement patterns, and improves the ability of the neck muscles to maintain stability of the neck.
These exercises are designed to help in a major trauma, such as a fall or whiplash during a motor vehicle accident, or in "micro trauma" from simple things such as being jostled in a crowd, playing sports or performing occupational or home jobs that require physical effort.
Ergonomic & Lifestyle Changes Whiplash Treatment
All Injury Rehab & Chiropractic will make suggestions on how to perform everyday activities with minimal strain to the body which may increase your whiplash pain. Our Chiropractors will give advice on factors in your work, home or recreational life. Additionally, clinical staff will teach the more important aspects of chiropractic wellness so the patient has a better "use of self" knowledge, and if necessary, stress a reduction in activities which may be causing you chiropractic problems.
